I Can't Believe I Haven't Talked About Lizzo Yet

So I will just say it: I can't believe I haven't talked about Lizzo the singer yet on my blog. About 2 weeks ago I went to see her in concert because I LOVE HER and when I was looking at pictures from that night I thought, I haven't talked about Lizzo. Whaaa?

If you have not heard of Lizzo she is an amazing music artist who not only has some of the best songs right now, she is a classically trained flute player and she plays her flute in concert. She sings, she wears crazy outfits. The thing about her that is so special though is that she is a HUGE leader in body positivity. What I like the most about her isn't that she may be bigger in size and wears whatever she wants, or that her songs are awesome, it is that she is trying to make it normal to feel good about yourself and not try to hide yourself or be called "brave" just for being proud of how you look and who you are no matter your size. In an interview with Glamour magazine she talked about how if a thin person puts herself on a billboard in a bikini, no one is going to call her brave, but if she does, or anyone else who is bigger does, people call it brave. Lizzo says that it's a double standard and I agree with her.

"I don't like it when people think it's hard for me to see myself as beautiful," she says. "I don't like it when people are shocked that I'm doing it."

Even though I work hard every day to like myself where I am at the time, it can still be hard to be super confident on a day you aren't feeling great about yourself but the thing is people LOVE Lizzo and she doesn't look a certain way. People love her because she is CONFIDENT and awesome no matter what size she is, and she shows it.
